The Longhu Hotel stands as a beacon of luxury and cultural reverence in the heart of central China. Its exterior, a tranquil embodiment of the Jade Dragon, seamlessly integrates with the landscape, while the interior design weaves the essence of the jade phoenix throughout the space. This harmonious blend of masculine and feminine elements not only creates a visually stunning environment but also symbolizes wealth, prosperity, and good fortune, deeply rooted in ancient Chinese lore.
Fei Hu's innovative approach to hotel design breaks away from convention. The lobby transcends traditional spatial forms, utilizing abstract techniques to craft shapes reminiscent of dragons and phoenixes. This allows guests to immerse themselves in the environment, experiencing the building's atmosphere as if stepping into a grandiose work of art. The hotel's design is a testament to the power of architecture in evoking emotion and creating memorable experiences.
The construction of Longhu Hotel employs ultra-thin marble slabs, a testament to technological advancement and thoughtful material selection. These slabs, only 2MM in thickness, not only reduce construction costs and complexity but also offer a choice between natural and artificial materials, showcasing the hotel's commitment to innovation and sustainability.
With 452 rooms spread across nine floors, the hotel spans a building area of 58,375 square meters. The lobby boasts a cavernous 26.8-meter high atrium, while the hotel's amenities include a 650m² lobby area, a 230m² lobby bar, and a grand 1800m² ballroom. Each standard room offers a generous 45m² of space, ensuring comfort and elegance for every guest.
The Longhu Hotel's interior design is a journey through art and culture. Guests are greeted by curved marble walls and copper panels, leading them to installations that guide the way to the lobby bar or dining room. The ceiling's crystal lamp, reminiscent of a phoenix in flight, adds a touch of warmth and tranquility to the space. This integration of technology, culture, art, and regional heritage promises an unforgettable artistic experience for all who visit.
Expected to be completed by the end of 2025, the Longhu Hotel project began its design phase in March 2022, with construction commencing in June 2023. The design team faced the challenge of transforming a vast atrium space into a comfortable and inviting environment. Their solution: sculpting the space into a cave-like atmosphere with curved walls that reduce the sense of emptiness and infuse the area with the spirit of traditional dragon and phoenix motifs.
Fei Hu's Longhu Hotel is not just a place to stay; it's a destination where local culture and openness converge. The design's respect and inheritance of culture have been recognized with the Bronze A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2024, celebrating the project's creativity, ingenuity, and contribution to enhancing the quality of life. Longhu Hotel is a testament to the designer's ability to create spaces that are both deeply rooted in tradition and boldly innovative.
